Let me tell you one thing.
Usually I don't shoot 35mm film or color-negative films. I have to say I hate them. Some reasons for it:

1. Film is just too small. And there is too much frames in one film. Who needs 36 pictures? Usually I shoot 120-film in 6x7 format and ten frames in one film is really enough. And every time you scann/print 35mm film frame it's full of huge dust spots and newton-rings and it takes a lot of time to clean it away in photoshop.
2. Black borders are not sharp. I don't want to crop my pictures at all but in 35mm film smooth black borders need a lot of work. You have to scan and crop the picture really carefully and it takes a lot of time.
3. If you want to shoot sharp images at f1.8 you have to be careful or buy a Leica or something. Sharp 35mm image doesn't make sense. I you want a sharp picture, I recommend a largeformat camera. Somehow I just like sharp images and that's why 35mm is not for me.
4. Aspect ratio. It looks gay. I have problems to make good compositions in 35mm. I'm used to shoot 6x7cm and 9x12cm films. 35mm frame is too "long".
5. Color negatives suck. Usually I work with black and white film and sometimes with color positive (9x12cm Fuji Provia) and I can handle it. In color-negative you have too much possibilities to do whatever you want.
6. Film speed. In middleformat you can shoot 6400asa withous serious problems. If you shoot 1600asa in 35mm it will be as grainy as your cat's toilet.

But, I have one slr camera and some old color negative films and sometimes I want to try something "new" for me. Now I have 30 crappy pictures of something that I have shot during 2009 and 2010. I'll publish some of the best pictures, but cleaning all that dust and fixing these tiny pictures is not my business. You can't take these upcoming images too seriously.

This picture looks good but it tooked too much time. 35mm can look good if you have enough time and energy and patience to work with it.

Kummia rantuja kuvisa.

KOVIA

kyllä sun pitäis fyysikkona tietää noi newton-hommat paremmin entä meikä. kino on vaan liian pientä meikälle, ihan hauskaa kampetta jos haluaa leikkiä jotai mut vakavampiin kuviin vaikea kuvitella. point and shoot -kampetta.
